For years, I thought resilience meant toughing it out. Keep going. Push through. Don’t break.
And for a long time, that worked—until it didn’t.
Working in HR and with leadership, I’ve seen so many people running on empty, believing that resilience is about bouncing back to where they were before. But the truth is:
Real resilience isn’t about bouncing back. It’s about bouncing forward.
The word resilience comes from the Latin resilire, meaning "to jump back" or "to rebound." In physics, it describes how materials return to their original shape after being stretched.

But we’re not rubber bands. We don’t just snap back—we adapt, we change, we grow.
✅ It’s knowing when to push and when to pause.
✅ It’s setting boundaries that protect your energy.
✅ It’s building habits and systems that support you, so you’re not just surviving but actually thriving.
And that’s exactly why I finally took the step to launch my Resilience Coaching Program—because too many HR professionals, leaders, and first-time managers are expected to be the strong ones without real support.
